We are seeking highly qualified PhD candidates to join our team at Norges teknisk-naturvitenskapelige universitet (NTNU) in the field of theoretical chemistry. As a PhD candidate, you will have the opportunity to work on the development of advanced electronic structure methods in the areas of molecular response theory for molecules in complex environments.
Key Responsibilities- Develop advanced electronic structure methods for molecular response theory in complex environments.
- Collaborate with experimental groups to apply developed methodologies to model time-resolved spectroscopies.
- Contribute to the development of software for electronic structure methods.
- Professionally relevant background in physical and theoretical chemistry.
- Master's degree in a relevant field, with a strong academic background and average grade of B or better.
- Good written and oral English skills.
- Experience with electronic structure theory development.
- Good mathematical skills.
- Experience with programming.

As a PhD candidate, you will be paid from gross NOK 532,200 per annum before tax. The period of employment is 4 years (with 25% teaching duties) or 3 years (without teaching duties). Appointment to a PhD position requires that you are admitted to the PhD programme in Chemistry within three months of employment, and that you participate in an organized PhD programme during the employment period.
