PhD Candidate in Psychology

The goal of a PhD Candidate position is to complete a doctoral education and obtain a doctoral degree in the field of psychology.
This position is linked to the field of psychology in the PhD programme in Social Sciences at the Faculty of Social and Educational Sciences at Norges teknisk-naturvitenskapelige universitet (NTNU).
The workplace will be the Department of Psychology, where you will work closely with supervisors from the department to investigate and formulate innovative themes and research questions within the field of psychology.
Responsibilities- Complete a doctoral education and obtain a doctoral degree in psychology
- Conduct research in the field of psychology, under the supervision of experienced researchers
- Develop and implement research projects, including designing and conducting studies, collecting and analyzing data, and interpreting results
- Present research findings at conferences and in publications
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to advance the field of psychology
- Completed cand. psychol. or major/master's degree (equivalent to 120 ECTS) with a strong background in psychology
- Very good written and oral English language skills
- Meet the requirements for admission to the faculty's doctoral program
- A letter of confirmation of supervision from a permanent employee at the Department of Psychology
- A project description (max. five pages)
- Grades from the master's degree or cand. psychol.
- Good qualifications in quantitative and/or qualitative methods
- Relevant research experience, such as publications in peer-reviewed journals and involvement in research projects
- Recommendations/references
- Goal-directedness, flexibility, and good skills in cooperation

As a PhD candidate (code 1017), you will be paid from gross NOK per annum before tax, depending on qualifications and seniority. From the salary, 2% is deducted as a contribution to the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.
The period of employment is 3 years.
Appointment to a PhD position requires that you are admitted to the PhD programme in social sciences Psychology – Programme Components – Social Sciences - NTNU within three months of employment, and that you participate in an organized PhD programme during the employment period.
