Bioenergy Development Specialist

At Ramboll, we are committed to delivering innovative solutions in the bioenergy sector. As a Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in driving business growth and development within our Bioenergy and Power-Generation group.
Job OverviewThis is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to join our team and contribute to the delivery of cutting-edge bioenergy solutions. You will work closely with clients, project management teams, and tender teams to develop high-quality technical and commercial proposals, drive business development initiatives, and provide expert advice on biofuels technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Opportunity Leadership and Management: Lead and manage biofuels consulting opportunities from identification to booking, developing project plans, timelines, and budgets for proposals, coordinating and overseeing multidisciplinary tender teams, and preparing and presenting detailed reports and recommendations to clients.
- Technical Expertise and Advisory: Provide expert advice on biofuels technologies, including production processes, feedstock selection, and sustainability practices, analyse market trends, policy developments, and regulatory changes affecting the bioenergy industry, conduct feasibility studies, economic analyses, and risk assessments for biofuels projects.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the biofuels sector, supporting clients in navigating regulatory frameworks and securing necessary approvals.
- Business Development: Develop and implement strategies to grow the biofuels consulting practice, participate in marketing and promotional activities, including conferences, webinars, and publications, identify key clients and projects to develop those following the business development plan.
- Team Leadership and Development: Mentor and train junior consultants, junior BD managers, and other team members, foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, stay updated on industry advancements and integrate new knowledge into the team's capabilities.
To succeed in this role, you will need a strong background in biofuels technology, consulting, or project management, with significant experience in the biofuels industry. You will also require excellent written and verbal communication skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and a strong understanding of market dynamics, competitive landscape, and regulatory frameworks in the biofuels sector.
A bachelor's or master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Renewable Energy, or a related field is preferred. Professional certifications related to renewable energy or biofuels, experience with international biofuels markets and policies, and fluency in additional languages are also desirable.
Please note that this position may require occasional travel to client sites and industry events.
