About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Category Manager to join our team at Wolt Market, responsible for driving category performance across ambient, fresh, and frozen food, as well as non-food categories. As a key member of our category team, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to optimize our assortment, trading plans, and supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Category Performance Management: Develop and implement strategies to drive category performance, including forecasting, monitoring, and reporting on business results.
  • Assortment Development: Define and update Wolt Market's assortment at a store level to meet customer needs and optimize order economics.
  • Supplier Negotiations: Lead effective negotiations with suppliers to establish joint goals, improve cost structure, and sustainably grow the P&L.
  • Category Design and Development: Influence the design of categories and contribute to new product groups to improve the customer experience and drive growth.
  • Business Planning and Project Execution: Create business plans for new opportunities and develop and execute project plans for the launch of new features, incorporating merchandising and pricing strategies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with counterparts across in-stock management, marketing, finance, and retail systems to operate and grow the business.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven track record of delivering results in a grocery retail, key account management, or consulting environment.
  • Communication and Negotiation Skills: Strong communication and negotiation skills, with experience working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leadership Experience: Team leadership experience is a strong plus.
  • Analytical and Strategic Thinking: Highly analytical, self-starting, and able to think strategically and operationally with an eye for detail.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in Norwegian and English.
