Role Description
We are seeking an experienced Chartering Manager to join our team at Nexans.
About the Company
Nexans is a global leader in the design and fabrication of cables, delivering EPCI turnkey projects worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct day-to-day chartering activities, negotiating Charter Party terms and requirements.
- Source optimal shipping solutions, monitor market rates, and provide regular evaluations and market analysis.
- Contribute to the organization's profit and loss, with an analytical mindset to assess market trends and risks.
- Develop and negotiate contracts of affreightment and spot contracts, with excellent negotiation skills and the ability to make informed decisions.
- Challenge project and operation-related topics, focusing on QHSE matters, and initiate improvements and risk-reducing measures.
- Participate in developing efficiencies and take part in technical improvements relevant to the department, while promoting Quality and HSE.
Requirements
- Deep knowledge of regional and international shipping markets.
- Execution of chartering contracts, including voyage/TC/BB contracts, with hands-on experience in BIMCO Contract management.
- Prior experience in developing and negotiating contracts of affreightment and spot contracts.
- Ability to prioritize work, respond to time-sensitive activities, and be work-efficient, with excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Fast learner, quick thinker, and ability to reach resolutions with a win-win outcome.
- Some business-related travel may be required, with the need to be contactable and flexible with working hours.
- Previous industry or relevant experience is essential.
Education and Experience
- Degree in Maritime or related disciplines.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar capacity role.
- Understanding of international maritime regulations and commercial shipping practices.
- Experience in areas involving supply chain planning, marine logistics activities, and vessel chartering.
