About the Job:
Dentsu is a global consulting and agency group with operations in Norway, seeking a highly skilled Country Controller to lead our Finance department.
This individual will be responsible for driving business growth, ensuring compliance, and maintaining high-quality financial information.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies, integrating statutory and management reporting requirements.
- Manage the process of filing local tax, statutory, and regulatory reports in a timely manner.
- Direct Balance Sheet reviews in Norway and collaborate with in-country Financial Controllers to enhance processes and management.
- Negotiate and manage relationships with internal/external auditors and regulatory bodies.
- Maintain and update the internal control framework.
- Function as the local technical accounting specialist for all accounting, legal, and regulatory matters.
- Evaluate and maintain compliance with Dentsu policies and ensure financial integrity.
- Develop and enhance capabilities, tools, and skills within Controllership to increase efficiency and value add.
- Respond to internal audit findings raised by the Internal Audit team and collaborate with in-country Financial Controllers to address pending matters.
- Conduct on-site training sessions to promote control and compliance awareness if necessary.
- Strengthen and develop the relationship between the Country Controller role and the Group controllership function.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting and Auditing.
- Professional experience in auditing, transitioning to an in-house role or working in a larger accounting firm.
- Significant experience in large corporations with an understanding of their structures and guidelines.
- Relevant compliance experience (advantageous experience in SOX – JSOX).
- International company experience with IFRS knowledge.
- Versatile experience from auditing to operational accounting and further to a controller role.
- Proficiency in both English and Norwegian languages.
- A genuine interest in technological advancements and identifying opportunities for technological solutions.
