Production Manager
Alva
was founded with a vision of electrifying the world through a unique production technology for electric motors. Since then, the company has been on a mission to accelerate the transition to sustainable solutions across a variety of industries by developing the world's best & most reliable electric drive systems.
We are looking for a
hands-on, structured, and driven Production Manager
to help shape Alva's next chapter.
Things move fast at Alva – and we intend to keep it that way. With a proven product, growing global demand, and a strong commercial pipeline, we are now scaling our operations to meet the moment. Our growth is built on proprietary motor technology and world-class engineering — and we are looking for someone who can turn that innovation into structured, efficient, and repeatable production.
This is not a role for someone who just wants to maintain what is already there. It is for someone who thrives in building structure, documentation, and flow — who enjoys translating complex processes into clear, measurable routines.
About the role
As Production Manager, you will lead Alva's production team and establish the systems, structure, and routines needed to scale manufacturing.
You will work closely with the COO, Engineering, and Supply Chain to align planning, documentation, and process development — ensuring that production runs efficiently, safely, and with consistent quality.
This is both a
hands-on and strategic
role. You will be close to daily operations but also take part in shaping how Alva builds the "blueprint" for future facilities and automation.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and develop the production department (currently 6–8 people, growing)
- Ensure reliable, efficient, and safe production flow
- Implement structured routines for shift work, documentation, and KPI tracking
- Drive continuous improvement through lean and data-driven methods (OEE, scrap, utilization)
- Collaborate closely with Engineering and Supply Chain on process optimization and automation projects
- Contribute to culture-building — establishing professionalism, accountability, and a shared mindset of improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial management, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience from production or manufacturing leadership, ideally within hardware or electro-mechanical products
- Solid understanding of lean manufacturing, line balancing, and process control
- Experience with ERP/MES systems and production documentation
- Fluent in English; Norwegian is an advantage
Key skills
- Strong leadership and communication abilities – able to build trust across blue- and white-collar teams
- Technology & data driven
- Analytical, structured, and improvement oriented
- Comfortable balancing operational follow-up with strategic thinking
- High attention to detail, safety, and quality
What success looks like
Success in this role will be defined by your ability to:
- Ensure reliable deliveries and predictable production flow
- Establish structure, documentation, and measurable KPIs across operations
- Maintain strong efficiency and continuous improvement (OEE, utilization, scrap reduction)
- Build a professional production culture rooted in collaboration, safety, and quality
- Support Alva's long-term automation and scale-up ambitions
Why Alva?
At Alva, we are developing electric motor technology that sets a new standard – lighter, more efficient, and more sustainable.
We are entering a global scale-up phase with strong financial backing, a clear growth plan, and a huge opportunity space.
You will join a team that experiments, iterates, and learns fast – and where your work will have real impact.
We offer a competitive salary, stock option program, and solid benefits – but most importantly: the chance to build something meaningful.
