Oslo, Oslo County, Norway Oda Full time

At Oda, we develop affordable grocery services to make the logistics of living surprisingly easy. First we built Norway's leading online grocery store, and now, partnered with Mathem in Sweden, we're on our way to becoming the world's most effective retail system, delivering to thousands of Scandinavian doorsteps every week.

Our world-class logistics and tech solutions allow us to reduce food waste, save time and money, and ease the mental and physical load for people who want more space for life. Now, we're taking it a step further. We're turning our hardware, smart software, and ways of working into a new business: Oda Systems. This means a brand-new chapter for Oda

We're looking for a Software Engineer to join the Logistics team in Oda

As part of the Logistics team, you'll work on the systems that keep Oda running smoothly behind the scenes. These are the tools our colleagues rely on every day to pick, pack, and deliver groceries efficiently. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with other developers, designers, and product experts to make our internal operations faster, smarter, and more reliable.

The problem you'll help solve: Imagine a busy night in our warehouse: hundreds of orders to pack, every item needs to be in the right place, and deliveries must leave on time. The systems you build need to guide our teams, prevent mistakes, and make sure everything flows as smoothly as possible.

What you'll be doing as a Software Engineer in the Logistics team

You'll take ownership of core internal tools and workflows, which cover everything from procurement and incoming, via picking and packing to delivery, and make them feel seamless and reliable. You'll work closely with colleagues across product, engineering, and operations to turn real-world challenges into smart, practical solutions. You'll build user-friendly interfaces, dive into APIs and backend logic, and iterate quickly based on direct feedback from the people using your tools.

From the first concept to shipping, measuring impact, and improving features, you'll see the direct results of your work every day – helping Oda deliver groceries efficiently to our customers.

What you'll need to succeed

  • You have at least 2 years of experience building web applications in a professional environment.
  • You're comfortable and like working with Python and TypeScript, or you have some experience and are a quick learner.
  • You take initiative, enjoy ownership, and like getting things over the finish line.
  • You're curious about how your work solves real problems and how our software powers the logistics behind Oda.
  • You're comfortable communicating in English and enjoy working together with others to build great solutions.

To thrive in this role,
we believe you enjoy working on systems that support real-world operations, are curious about how your code makes an impact, and are committed to delivering reliable, high-quality solutions. You enjoy collaborating with others to turn challenges into practical improvements that make life easier for our customers.

What would be nice to have

  • Some knowledge of Norwegian or another Scandinavian language.
  • Experience with Django or React, and familiarity with containerization (Docker) and cloud infrastructure.

What we offer

  • A chance to make a real impact as a Software Engineer in a fast-moving company with a product people love—while shaking up the grocery industry.
  • Teammates who aim high and have each other's backs. We care about people and support each other every step of the way.
  • A flat structure where we team up across disciplines to solve exciting challenges. Big ideas come from everywhere
  • A transparent way of working. We use Slack to stay in the loop—less email, fewer meetings, more getting things done.
  • A buzzing office at Tøyen, with lunch made by our very own chefs.
  • A collaborative approach—we tackle exciting tech and product challenges together, across different fields.
  • A chance to shape the future of grocery shopping while building a company that's here to stay.

A few final words

At Oda, you'll join a passionate, ambitious team working to change the future of grocery shopping. We're all different—just like you—and we wouldn't have it any other way. If you need any adjustments or support during the application process, just let us know, and we'll do our best to help. We believe in the strength of a diverse workforce and want everyone to have an equal shot at landing the job.

Come build the future of grocery with us We can't wait to hear from you

We'll keep the position open over the holidays and plan to review applications in the second week of January. You can expect to hear from us around that time. We appreciate your patience and interest.
