Job Description

Working in Project Delivery Unit (PDU)

Statkraft builds hydropower plants in target markets in Europe, India and Latin America, and PDU is the responsible unit for the pre-construction and construction phase of the projects with a Capex exceeding 300 MNOK.

PDU provides support and quality services to Statkraft assets to ensure optimization through value engineering of large greenfield and upgrade projects, including technical, HSSE and project management services. PDU has a group-wide responsibility to develop Statkraft’s way of working through the construction phase and to deliver the competence and capacity to ensure project construction performance.

The role is for a Senior/Principal Engineer with vast experience within early-stage development, design, manufacturing, installation and commissioning of Generator, Control systems, MV- and HV-systems, Transformers and other EBOP for greenfield, upgrade and redesign projects.

The role will include responsibilities within: 

  • Support and quality control of ongoing hydropower projects both in early phase development and during construction. 
  • Support in planning, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, etc
  • Optimisation of relevant equipment in cooperation with other disciplines, establish lay-out, and cost estimates for Generator, Control systems, MV- and HV-systems, Transformers and other EBOP. Design reviews and technical calculations or review of calculations for electrical equipment. 
  • Assist during installation, testing and commissioning
  • Contribute to improvement of requirements based on experience from projects and updated know-how and R&D. 
  • Competence in material technology and manufacturing processes of electrical hydropower components and participation in FAT.
  • Introduce new tools and methods exploiting relevant digitalisation opportunities.
  • Be the discipline responsible for electrical equipment of hydro power plant projects.

Qualifications

About you: 

We look for an experienced engineer with essential skills within hydropower electrical equipment, which includes: 

  • Electrical engineer MSc/BSc with 10-15 years of relevant experience from power company, consultant or manufacturing industry. 
  • Strong ability to combine ICT-skills and electrical equipment knowledge. 
  • Experience with optimization, design, costing, manufacturing, installation, testing and commissioning of hydropower plants and equipment. 
  • Analytical, structured and planning oriented
  • Experience with condition assessment of electrical equipment. 

The candidate shall have high ethical standards and strong HSSE focus as well as excellent communication skills and proficiency in one of the Scandinavian languages and English, both orally and in writing.

Statkraft develops, builds and manages critical infrastructure and services in several countries. The applicant must be eligible for security clearance and authorisation.
