The Generation & Transmission Business Group of Nexans (G&T) is a global player in engineering, manufacturing and installing land & submarine cable solutions to customers all over the world. G&T is key in the transition to more renewable energy, whether connecting countries, islands to the mainland or bringing green energy from offshore wind farms to the grid, and has manufacturing plants in Norway, USA, Japan, France and Belgium. We are looking for an business-minded, and self-motivated Contract Manager / Contract Specialist join us. You will be key member of the project team, and when assigned to projects be part of a project team, collaborating closely with the Project Manager of the assigned project(s) to ensure that project(s) are delivered on time, on budget, with the required quality and within agreed specifications. You will support the project and local team with guidance and leadership to maximize commercial opportunities and mitigate risk.
Responsibilities
Facilitate Contract review with project team, raise contractual awareness during the project execution phase Liase with the client and other construction professionals, such as site managers, project managers and site engineers. Liase with Nexans legal department as required Analyze the contracts to establish, with relevant stakeholders, a contract and commercial management strategy Manage all commercial and contractual Project. Prepare relevant documentation and reports Ensures contract obligations are known and followed by the project team, and to secure that statutory regulations and other quality requirements are met Track changes to the work, and Manage Variation Orders, disputes and claims Review and draft correspondence Organizes and leads project stakeholders for contractual and commercial matters in order to obtain relevant information Support the project with supplier and sub-contract management, including leading negotiations linked to sourcing of materials and services Support the project with the establishment and negotiation of subcontracts and strategic procurements, oversee the construction works, and measure and value the work done on site Proactively provide advice on specific issues, risks, contractual/claims activities, considering the contract and Nexans’ business objectivesRequirements and Expectations
Post Graduate degree in Law, Engineering, Finance, Technical, Economics or business sciences. Minimum 5 years contract or commercial management experience We appreciate if you have experience from EPCI contracts and familiar with the major construction contract forms including; FIDIC,NF, NTK, NEC, LOGIC, ORGALIM Fluent in English (both written and oral) Sound business judgment with the ability to balance contractual and business priorities, break down complex contractual problems, and articulate risks to partners in the business Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, ability to adapt to changing priorities Customer orientation with excellent collaboration skills Willingness to take on tasks both big and small A commercial mindset and mentality to “own” your commercial and contractual activities You are curious and enjoy finding solutions to practical problems and deal with variety of variables, while maintaining a high sense of quality and time.
