The position

By joining our team in Projects, Drilling & Procurement you will have the opportunity to:
Secure technical integrity & quality in project design, development and execution by identifying and addressing risks and concerns, further secure effective and risk-based mitigation, and follow up. Obtain and align relevant design and operational experiences from similar projects and operating installations. Review of regulations, standards, and internal requirements to assess their effect on the project. Represent the material technology discipline in project development by maintaining high material knowledge levels, establish regular contact with contractor discipline responsible, ensure efficient use of standardized solutions where applicable, and manage change proposals from requirements in the design basis. Collaborate with discipline networks, leading advisors, and chief engineers within Equinor. Contribute to strengthen the capability for further development and implementation of our improvement agenda through the Project Development Centre (PDC), Simplification, Standardization and Industrialization (SSI), and other standardization processes.

In the team you will work with material technology at a world-class and cutting-edge level in the oil & gas, renewable, and low carbon industries. Our work ranges from early phase studies to execution & completion phases, and beyond. We are specifically strengthening our material technology team within polymer technology, paint, coating & surface treatment systems, insulation systems, and corrosion protection systems.

MSc or PhD in material science, mechanical engineering, chemistry, chemical engineering or other relevant areas. 

Specialization in one or more of the following areas; polymer sciences; paint, coating & surface treatment systems, insulation systems, and corrosion protection technologies. Minimum 5 years of experience with knowledge of international and relevant standards. Multidiscipline understandings and experiences, with a commercial mindset and the ability to lead, motivate, drive people, and change. A strong team player with the ability to handle multiple tasks and align with other disciplines. You challenge established ways of working and ensure that standards, tools, technologies, and work methods are developed, qualified, and implemented. Flexibility towards traveling and mobility. Proficiency in English.
