Offer Description

The position is associated with the Pharmacokinetics group (PK group) at the Department of Pharmacy. The group works broadly within the field of pharmacokinetics, focusing on individualized drug therapy. The common goal for the projects is to characterize various factors significant for variation in drug response. This includes, among other things, genetic variation in drug-metabolizing enzymes and transport proteins, disease-related factors, drug interactions, and the gut microbiome.

We collaborate closely with various clinical environments, particularly the departments of pharmacology and transplantation at Oslo University Hospital, Rikshospitalet. The project associated with this position will, in line with the research group's main focus, study the bilateral effects between the gut microbiome and drugs, and the impact on drug dosing. Relevant methods include pharmacokinetic investigations in patients, shotgun sequencing, bioinformatics, HPLC-MS analysis of drugs in different biological matrices, and population pharmacokinetic modelling. The projects are managed in a team with Master's and PhD students.
