Postdoctoral fellowship in global health politics (SKO 1352)

A post-doctoral fellowship is available with the Global Health Politics research group at the University of Oslo's Centre for Development and the Environment (from June 2025, the Centre for Global Sustainability).

We welcome proposals for research that align closely with either or both of two externally funded projects that are starting in mid-2025. These are the Norwegian Research Council-funded project "Pandemic Funds, Public Goods for Health and the Future of Global Health Financing" (PANDFUND), and "Mega-philanthropy and democratic governance" (PHILOS) funded by the University of Oslo's research initiative UiO:Democracy.

Projects can focus on the influence of private-sector actors within global health governance and policy, notably the transnational role of private philanthropic foundations and public-private partnerships. Proposals that foreground issues related to the management of potential conflicts of interest, transparency, and accountability in the relationship between public and private actors are particularly welcome. We welcome projects focused on national, regional and global policy arenas.

More about the position

The main purpose of a postdoctoral fellowship is to provide the candidates with enhanced skills to pursue a scientific top position within or beyond academia.

The postdoctoral fellow will be a fully integrated and active member of the interdisciplinary Global health politics research group at the University of Oslo's new Centre for Global Sustainability, and the PANDFUND and PHILOS project groups. They may also contribute to and benefit from the international Collective on the Political Determinants of Health, which is hosted by the group.
