Welcoming you to the team

The Project Purchasing team is a diverse and multicultural team with members in Norway, USA, France, and UK. The team is responsible for managing and coordinating all purchasing-related activities respecting Nexans purchasing procedures throughout the lifetime of the projects.

The Transversal Team is part of the Project Purchasing team and provides purchasing support for IMR (Inspection, Maintenance, and Repairs) projects, R&D projects, and STSC (Special Subsea Cables) projects. This team is currently looking for a team member with IMR experience to support the growth in IMR projects.

Getting a flying start

To succeed as Senior Project Purchaser, you have at least 5-7 years of experience, of which 3-5 years are related to IMR. You have worked in companies that are project-driven and have activities related to purchasing and tender projects. You have experience working domestically or internationally. You will be comfortable with ensuring quality and safety during the projects. You have experience preparing and managing procurement plans, defining purchasing strategies, negotiating, and following up contracts. Good communication skills are essential to ensure good information flow across different disciplines.

How you make an impact

You will support the projects on all purchasing-related tasks, prepare and evaluate offers to be presented and discussed with the tender/project team. During project execution, ensure high-quality delivery, efficient project execution, and minimum variations and claims by close follow-up of internal stakeholders, suppliers, contracts, and deliveries. Ensure good coordination with all tender & project teams; establish and maintain Procurement Plans according to Nexans Standards; provide necessary inputs to the monthly reporting. You will be an active and visible contributor in the tender and project to satisfy internal and external customers.

You may also participate in developing efficiencies and take part in technical improvements relevant to our department. You boost your impact by actively promoting Quality and HSE.

Your starting point when you join

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain
  • Min. 5-7 years of experience in a project setting
  • Min. 3-5 years of experience in Procurement / Supply Chain activities
  • Min. 3-5 years IMR working experience from any of the following industries: oil, gas, offshore, onshore, maritime, subsea cable
  • In this role, the likelihood of succeeding will increase if you are proactive and eager to learn and improve.
  • At Nexans, we work in teams and are driven by project execution; therefore, being able to communicate effectively and having strong collaboration skills is of utmost importance.
  • Fluent in English – oral and written; Norwegian/French/Spanish/Italian is a plus.
