Main Responsibilities:
  • Identify and act on commercial opportunities for UK industries in the Norwegian defence, security, and space sectors.
  • Create, facilitate, and deliver initiatives that will drive success through exports won.
  • Liaise with UK stakeholders, including government departments, sector organisations, and industry, to convey the opportunities that Norway's defence and security needs may offer.
  • Provide advice on the industrial perspectives in these fields and utilise high-level engagements to deliver on the trade agenda.
  • Develop, nurture, and grow a network of stakeholders in government, organisations, and corporations, and act as an intermediary to facilitate decision-making.
Requirements:
  • Fluency in English and Norwegian at a C1 level according to CEFR.
  • University degree in a relevant field (economics, political economy, business, social sciences, international relations, etc.) or equivalent professional experience.
  • Relevant work experience, preferably in the defence sector, external relations, or business development.
  • Demonstrable analytical skills and the ability to make sense of complex information.
  • Proven experience in explaining information and reporting to senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
  • Ability to work well on own initiative.
  • Good IT skills, especially using MS Office tools.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • 2-5 years of work experience within one or more of the following areas: the defence sector, external relations, business development, or relevant UK or Norwegian Government Departments.
Working Arrangements:

This is a full-time fixed-term position of 3 years, for five working days (currently 35 hours net) per week. This position is office-based, but with a remote working policy in place. Some travel may be required.

The successful candidate will be subject to professional background checks and security clearance.
