Material Flow Analysis Specialist

This role requires expertise in material flow analysis and its application in sustainable development. The successful candidate will develop a dynamic MFA model for the Norwegian wood sector, considering climate change mitigation strategies and under-utilized wood resources.

About the Project:

The Horizon Europe project WoodStock aims to support the New European Bauhaus initiative by developing climate-smart solutions for effective wood use. The project focuses on under-utilized wood resources in the construction sector and the need for accessible and transparent methods to evaluate circular practices and climate mitigation strategies.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop a dynamic MFA model for the Norwegian wood sector, incorporating embodied carbon cycles and under-utilized wood resources
  • Create scenarios for climate change mitigation under wood availability constraints
  • Collaborate with the project team to develop harmonized approaches for wood flow accounting and modeling in Europe
