Materials Engineer - Offshore Wind/Renewables/Mechanical Engineers

Techconsult AS is seeking a highly skilled Materials Engineer to join our team in the offshore wind and renewables sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure technical integrity in project design and execution by identifying and addressing risks and concerns, and implementing effective risk-based follow-up of project development.
  2. Collaborate with project teams to obtain and align relevant design and operational experience from similar projects and operating installations.
  3. Review and assess the impact of regulations, standards, and internal requirements on project development.
  4. Represent the material technology discipline in project developments, establishing regular contact with contractor discipline responsible, ensuring efficient use of standardized solutions, and managing change proposals from requirements in the design basis.
  5. Work closely with discipline network/leading advisors/chief engineer to drive project success.

Requirements:

  1. MSc or PhD in material science, chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or other relevant majors.
  2. Specialization in one or more of the following areas: polymer sciences, paint, coating & surface treatment systems, insulation systems, corrosion protection technologies.
  3. Minimum 10 years of project experience.
  4. Knowledge of international and relevant standards.
  5. Multidiscipline understanding and experience, with a commercial mindset and the ability to lead, motivate, and drive people & change.
  6. A strong team player with the ability to handle multiple tasks and align with other disciplines.
  7. Ability to challenge established ways of working and ensure that standards, tools, technologies, and work methods are developed, qualified, and implemented.
  8. Flexibility towards traveling and mobility.
  9. Ability to handle responsibility and high workloads.
  10. Proficiency in English.
