Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Controller to join our team at Omega 365 Consulting. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for establishing budgets, updating cost estimates, and maintaining cost reporting systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and revise the Master and Current Control Estimate (MCE/CCE) and Project Control Basis.
  • Deliver timely reporting (weekly, monthly, and quarterly).
  • Align cost and change control databases (PIMS) with Excel.
  • Build excellent working relationships within the team.
  • Prepare input for License Budgets and Project Approval for Expenditures (AFE's) and support their coordination.
  • Track expenditure against License budgets and AFEs, ensuring change control processes are followed.
  • Prepare and maintain updated project cost estimates as work progresses, including baseline updates.
  • Track and analyze cost data to establish trends, identify issues, and recommend improvements.
  • Work with contractors to ensure maximum accuracy for cost reporting.
  • Proactively track, validate, and report on Purchase Requisitions and Orders, Service Orders, Variation Orders, and Invoice Payments.
  • Presentation of cost performance or status in License meetings when requested.
  • Prepare monthly cost reports for submission to the Project Teams, Project Management Function, and License Partners.
  • Review and challenge contractor cost reports.

Requirements

  • A degree-level qualification related to Project Management, Project Controls, Cost Engineering, Economics, or Business Management.
  • 3-5 years of experience in cost engineering and/or cost control as part of relevant larger development projects or decommissioning projects.
  • Experience of collaborating with cross-functional teams and matrix organizations.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft 365 working tools, including advanced use of Excel, and some Power BI experience is beneficial.
  • Experience of project management tools, such as PIMS and Visma, is beneficial.
  • Good communication skills, an eye for detail, and a high willingness to learn.
  • Good influencing skills, including the ability to question and challenge project teams, chair cost-related meetings, and forward-thinking, curious, proactive, and solution-oriented.
  • Ability to successfully interact with contractors and partners and coordinate cost data information flow between relevant stakeholders.
  • Strive to analyze and challenge contractor reports, identifying areas of risk and concern that could impact project delivery and cost, and flag these in a timely fashion to the project team.
  • Resilient, with the ability to quickly bounce back from and remain positive during setbacks, handle change in a positive manner, and maintain a high standard of integrity/ethics.
  • Nimble, sustainable, creating value, and working as a high-performing team.
