Legal Counsel

Riverty is seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to join our team in Oslo, Copenhagen, Varberg, or Helsinki. As a key member of our legal community, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our business and the entire company in various legal affairs.
The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in law and 2-5 years of hands-on experience in debt collection, debt purchase, consumer protection law, and contract law. You will be responsible for providing legal support and advice on a wide range of topics, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating client contracts, supplier agreements, and other pertinent internal and external contracts and legal documents.
You will also have the opportunity to take responsibility for the company's internal legal training and actively participate in developing the legal department. The role includes intermittent travel in the Nordics and occasionally to other countries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal support and advice on debt collection, consumer law, business law, and contract law
- Draft, review, and negotiate client contracts, supplier agreements, and other legal documents
- Support internal stakeholders and act as a sparring partner to the international Legal team
- Represent the organization in matters involving supervisory authorities
- Monitor upcoming legislation and advise the organization on its potential impact on business
Requirements:
- Master's degree in law (Norway or Denmark preferred)
- 2-5 years of hands-on experience in debt collection, debt purchase, consumer protection law, and contract law
- Well-developed legal, drafting, and advisory skills
- Analytical, determined, result-oriented, and self-motivated personality
- Ability to work independently and handle a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Good communication skills and fluency in English and one of the Scandinavian languages
