Research Opportunities

The University of Oslo's Institute of Clinical Medicine offers a unique opportunity to conduct research in a dynamic and collaborative environment. Our team is dedicated to advancing our understanding of host-microbiome interactions and their impact on human health.

This Postdoctoral Fellow position is part of an ERC Consolidator Grant project, 'FatVersusBile', which focuses on understanding how the gut influences liver health in humans and mice. The project has three subprojects, each focusing on different aspects of gut-liver interactions.

About the Project

The 'FatVersusBile' project aims to understand how the gut drives liver health and how these mechanisms can be manipulated. The project will use cutting-edge technologies, including metagenomics, mouse models, and a germ-free animal facility, to investigate gut-liver interactions.

The research group values collaboration, innovation, and independent thinking. As a Postdoctoral Fellow, you will have the opportunity to develop your own research track and collaborate with other researchers within the group.

Your Role
  • Conduct research in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
  • Contribute to the development of new leads using in vivo and in vitro experiments, as well as validation in human materials.
  • Collaborate with other researchers within the group to advance the project's goals.
Requirements
  • PhD in a relevant field (microbiology, immunology, etc.).
  • Experience with animal experiments and laboratory techniques.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
