Job Summary:

OSM Thome is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Engineer to oversee all engine room operations on our Bulkcarrier vessels. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our vessel's machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all engine room operations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain and repair machinery, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
  • Lead and manage a team of engine room crew, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve engine room efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless vessel operations.

Requirements:

  • Valid Chief Engineer license and extensive experience on Bulkcarriers.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Knowledge of maritime safety and environmental regulations, with a focus on compliance and risk management.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong focus on safety and customer satisfaction.
  • Willingness to work worldwide, with flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.
