Role Overview
In the capacity of Senior Manager/Manager – Land, Licenses, and Permits, you will report directly to the Director of Business and Project Development and will be tasked with:
- Assisting the Head of Land, Licenses & Permits throughout the entire acquisition process, which includes land sourcing, legal compliance, feasibility assessments, and deal closure.
- Identifying business development prospects for joint ventures or outright land purchases, while assessing the business viability of the land.
- Utilizing the necessary expertise to evaluate land potential for solar and wind energy projects, collaborating with the GIS and technical teams to identify optimal land and connectivity options.
- Sourcing land opportunities for joint development and establishing relationships with property consultants and agents to secure business leads.
- Overseeing land consultants and aggregators, providing weekly progress reports.
- Engaging in negotiations with landowners and conducting land surveys.
- Understanding the required approvals for land acquisition, registration, and project execution permits.
- Managing fencing, possession, and registration of sale/lease deed documents.
- Collaborating closely with the Legal Department to ensure thorough due diligence and review of land documents, MOUs, and addressing any litigation matters with landowners.
- Working in tandem with the Liaison Department to secure approvals, clearances, and licenses from governmental and regulatory bodies for land procurement.
- Taking ownership of government relations and the approvals process necessary for project establishment and operation.
- Clearly articulating Statkraft's goals, vision, and mission, positioning the company as a trustworthy investor in India.
- Fostering a positive image and perception of Statkraft within government departments.
- Building and maintaining productive relationships with state government departments to facilitate interactions between Statkraft management and senior government officials, while upholding the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
Qualifications
We seek experienced professionals equipped with the essential skills to advance our business and renewable energy initiatives, including:
- A degree in BSc/BTech/LLB or MBA, with 12-15 years of experience in land acquisition, particularly in Rajasthan.
- The ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight.
- Excellent communication skills for effective engagement with landowners.
- Knowledge of real estate principles and geographical insights relevant to the work area.
- Proficiency in preparing financial reports, including feasibility studies, pricing analysis, land assessments, and market research.
- Proven experience in successfully closing land deals of significant acreage.
