Job Description

Statkraft is a leading company in hydropower internationally and Europe's largest generator of renewable energy. We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to join our team as a Head- Project Development in New Delhi.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to strategy development, business plan, and annual plan based on market trends, government policies, land acquisition, and permitting processes.
  • Identify potential wind/solar/hybrid project opportunities in identified states and conduct initial assessments to evaluate the feasibility of grid connection and land acquisition/leasing.
  • Lead the process selection and on-boarding of development partners and oversee land acquisition across all wind/solar/hybrid projects.
  • Ensure regular stakeholder engagement at local, state, and central levels and facilitate technical studies, site clearance, and community engagement.
  • Oversee approval/permitting processes across all wind/solar/hybrid projects throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Contribute to project planning and internal decision processes to facilitate timely development and ensure regular reporting of progress, updating of risk register, and internal communication of risks and mitigation plans.
  • Actively seek and provide feedback to team members, peers, and managers and prepare, implement, and keep track of development plans for team members in collaboration with HR.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, renewable energy, business administration, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in renewable project development, a large part of which should be with a renewable asset owner company.
  • 5+ years of experience in team management.
  • Proven expertise in land acquisition and renewable project development in India.
  • In-depth knowledge of wind/solar/hybrid project development processes, including site selection and permitting.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks and policies in India.
