We are seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD candidate to join our research team at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). The successful candidate will be part of a vibrant and international academic environment, working on cutting-edge research projects in the field of artificial intelligence and information verification.
Job DescriptionThe PhD candidate will work on developing and applying advanced AI techniques for fact checking and information verification, with a focus on trustworthy AI and responsible AI innovation. The candidate will explore the use of knowledge graphs and other external knowledge resources in combination with large language models, and investigate the challenges and opportunities of integrating these technologies.
Responsibilities- Design and experiment with different techniques for fact checking and information verification
- Take relevant courses to learn the necessary technical background knowledge
- Publish and disseminate research results
- Communicate and establish collaborations with international and national parties, including NorwAI partners
- Professionally relevant background in computer science
- Good understanding of AI concepts and techniques, and good programming skills
- Excellent written and oral English language skills
- Strong academic background from previous studies, with an average grade of B or better
- Meet the requirements for admission to the PhD program at NTNU
- Experience in software development, particularly with machine learning and/or semantic methods
- Experience with writing and publishing articles
- Passionate about research and motivated to learn
- Able to work independently and in a team environment
- Good communication skills
- Motivated to deliver research results through publications and presentations
- Exciting and stimulating tasks in a strong international academic environment
- An open and collaborative work environment with dedicated colleagues
- Favourable terms in the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund
The PhD candidate will be employed as a PhD candidate (code 1017) with a salary of NOK 532,200 per annum before tax, depending on qualifications and seniority. The period of employment is 3 years, with a possibility of 4 years with 25% teaching duties.
