PhD Candidate in Fact Checking and Information Verification

The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) is seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our research team in the field of fact checking and information verification. As a PhD candidate, you will work on developing and applying AI techniques to improve the accuracy and reliability of information verification.
Key Responsibilities- Design and experiment with different techniques for fact checking and information verification
- Take relevant courses to learn the necessary technical background knowledge
- Publish and disseminate research results
- Communicate and establish collaborations with international and national parties, including NorwAI partners
- Professionally relevant background in computer science
- Good understanding of AI concepts and techniques, and good programming skills
- Excellent written and oral English language skills
- Master's degree in a relevant field, with a strong academic background and average grade of B or better
- Meet the requirements for admission to the PhD program at NTNU
- Experience in software development, particularly with machine learning and/or semantic methods
- Experience with writing and publishing articles
- Passionate about research and motivated to learn
- Able to work independently and in a team environment
- Good communication skills
- Motivated to deliver research results through publications and presentations
- Well organized and highly responsible
- Exciting and stimulating tasks in a strong international academic environment
- An open and collaborative work environment with dedicated colleagues
- Favourable terms in the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund
As a PhD candidate, you will be paid from gross NOK 532,200 per annum before tax, depending on qualifications and seniority. The period of employment is 3 years, with a possibility of 4 years with 25% teaching duties.
