About the Job

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our research team at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). The successful candidate will work on fact checking and information verification, with a focus on trustworthy large language models (LLMs) and knowledge graphs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and experiment with different techniques for fact checking and information verification
  • Take relevant courses to learn the necessary technical background knowledge
  • Publish and disseminate research results
  • Communicate and establish collaborations with international and national parties, including NorwAI partners

Requirements

  • Professionally relevant background in computer science
  • Good understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) concepts and techniques, and good programming skills
  • Excellent written and oral English language skills
  • Strong academic background from previous studies, with an average grade equal to B or better
  • Meet the requirements for admission to the PhD program at NTNU

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in software development, particularly with machine learning and/or semantic methods
  • Experience with writing and publishing articles

Salary and Conditions

As a PhD candidate, you will be paid from gross NOK 532,200 per annum before tax, depending on qualifications and seniority. The period of employment is 3 years, with a possibility of 4 years with 25% teaching duties.
