About the Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate for a PhD research position in social anthropology at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). The successful candidate will work on an ethnographic research project focusing on peatland restoration and sustainability in Norway.

As a PhD candidate, you will be part of the Anthropologies of Sustainability research group at the Department of Social Anthropology. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting an anthropological research project, participating in the research group, and teaching duties.

Key qualifications for the position include a background in social or cultural anthropology, experience with ethnographic fieldwork, and a strong academic background. You must also have a good command of written and oral English language skills.

The appointment is for 4 years, with 25% teaching duties and other competence-building tasks. You will be admitted to the PhD programme in social sciences, specialization in social anthropology, within three months of employment.

Salary and Conditions

The salary for this position is NOK 532,200 per annum before tax, depending on qualifications and seniority. The employment period is 4 years, with 25% teaching duties and other competence-building tasks.
