Join Our Team as an Employee & Labour Relations Manager

The EMEA Employee Relations (ER) team is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Employee & Labour Relations (ELR) Manager. Our team is committed to delivering exceptional expertise and proactive strategies to foster and maintain a diverse and thriving corporate environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessing, diagnosing, designing, and refining employee programs, policies, and practices to promote positive employee relations.
  • Engaging in new and regional expansion initiatives to:
    • Influence decisions related to employee matters.
    • Advise on strategies to mitigate ER risks.
  • Creating and implementing scalable training resources to enhance ER and LR knowledge and skills for managers and HR professionals across the region.
  • Collaborating with senior ER colleagues and other stakeholders, including internal and external legal counsel, to manage establishment and interactions with third parties.
  • Gaining insights into employee engagement levels and drivers across various locations, supporting initiatives aimed at achieving engagement targets aligned with our ER philosophy.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate updates to stakeholders in EMEA and beyond when ER/LR situations arise.
  • Conducting climate assessments in relevant sites and ensuring all resultant actions are documented and followed up.
  • Working with the ER team to enhance tracking mechanisms for relevant data and risk indicators.
  • Partnering with HR colleagues and managers to address potential issues with existing works councils, ensuring smooth operations and promoting positive employee engagement.
  • Collaborating with HR site managers, business partners, and employment counsel to identify and address emerging risks.
  • Engaging with employee relations colleagues across Amazon on LR/ER matters impacting all Amazon businesses.
  • Monitoring internal and external labor relations trends and providing relevant reports to management.

This position reports to the Principal of Employee & Labour Relations and offers a hybrid work model.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in employee and/or labor relations, functional human resources, or labor/employment law.
  • A Bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree, law degree, or specialized training in labor/employee relations is a significant advantage.
  • Familiarity with labor relations landscapes across the Nordic Countries and/or specialized knowledge of at least one Nordic Country's labor relations landscape.
  • Proficiency in Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, or Finnish.
  • Experience managing employee representative bodies.
  • Proven experience in coaching, consulting, and advising employees and HR & business stakeholders.
  • Experience facilitating employee listening sessions or focus groups.
  • Experience in designing and delivering training programs.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop and present standard and ad hoc reports to HR and business leaders.
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

  • Demonstrated sound judgment and decision-making skills, utilizing emotional intelligence in all interactions.
  • Strong interpersonal and persuasion skills, enabling effective collaboration across management levels and personalities.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to craft executive-level messaging, reports, and presentations.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills in ambiguous environments, capable of managing competing priorities while driving projects to completion.
  • Experience working with large datasets to identify root causes, recognize patterns, and develop innovative solutions for complex challenges.
  • A proactive approach with a sense of urgency and a desire to thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Highly motivated, resilient, and intellectually curious.
  • Ability to navigate complex international organizational structures successfully.
  • Capability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Solid understanding of employment legislation and labor relations frameworks in any of the Nordic countries (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland).
