Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Automation Engineer to join our team at Funell. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting our IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless access management, backup and disaster recovery, and automation of internal tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Implement IT Infrastructure: Develop and maintain our IT infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and high availability.
  • Access Management and Automation: Implement a consistent strategy for access management, backup and disaster recovery, and automation of internal tools, including Google Workspace, Jira, Spacelift, Grafana, Hubspot, and BambooHR.
  • Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD): Improve our CI/CD system, ensuring seamless integration and delivery of our products.
  • System Performance and Availability: Monitor system performance and availability, developing proactive alerting and remediation strategies to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, implementing long-term solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Emerging Technologies and Best Practices: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry best practices in infrastructure automation, ensuring our infrastructure remains cutting-edge.
Requirements
  • Programming Skills: Strong programming skills in Java, Python, Go, or similar languages.
  • Software Engineering Principles: Good understanding of sound software engineering principles and practices.
  • Cloud Platforms and Containerization: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker or Kubernetes).
  • Service Provider APIs: Experience with integrating with various service provider (typically RESTful) APIs.
  • Networking, Operating Systems, and Security: Solid understanding of networking, operating systems, and security principles.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Teamwork and Independence: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desired Skills
  • Infrastructure as Code Tools: Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Tofu, Spacelift, etc.
  • CI/CD Tooling: Experience with CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions, Buildkite, etc.
  • Monitoring and Logging Systems: Familiarity with monitoring and logging systems (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Infrastructure Testing Frameworks: Knowledge of infrastructure testing frameworks.
