About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Research Animal Specialist to join our In Vivo Biology team at ARTBIO. As a key member of the team, you will support in vivo pharmacology efforts and contribute to the advancement of targeted radioligand therapies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor animal health, recognizing potential issues and implementing measures to maintain animal welfare.
  • Select animals for studies, refine assessment techniques, and ensure accurate dosing and sampling methods.
  • Support research entities with in vivo pharmacology assessments of radiopharmaceuticals, including disease model testing, PK, PD, and toxicology studies, as well as molecular imaging.
  • Perform routine laboratory tasks, including injections, administering medicines, tissue collection and processing, blood, urine, and stool sample analysis.
  • Maintain accurate data records and contribute to the development of new animal handling techniques.
  • Promote a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to established procedures for laboratory maintenance, instrument calibration, and equipment upkeep.
  • Manage laboratory inventory, ensuring timely ordering of animals and lab supplies.

Qualifications & Education

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in animal science, animal technology, animal management, or related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with research animals (rodents), with strong knowledge of animal handling and multiple routes of drug administration.
  • Familiarity with Animal Welfare regulations governing the use of animals in scientific research.
  • Certification to work with research animals, such as FELASA/CAREiN.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in in vivo molecular imaging is an added advantage.
  • Working knowledge of open-source radionuclides is also beneficial.
