Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced OSS System Administrator to join our team at Motorola Solutions. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our Operations Support System (OSS) network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network Administration: Install, configure, and administer virtual servers hosted in our OSS virtual platform.
  • Fault Resolution: Investigate and resolve complex faults affecting the OSS, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement effective solutions.
  • Platform Monitoring: Monitor OSS platform availability to ensure optimal performance.
  • User Administration: Administer users of applications and services, ensuring secure access and authorization.
  • Remote Access: Administer remote access solutions to ensure secure and reliable connectivity.
  • Documentation: Document configuration changes for every OSS component, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Vendor Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and external vendors to evaluate and implement new OSS applications and services.
  • Security Best Practices: Implement and enforce security best practices to protect OSS systems and data integrity.
Requirements
  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong background in IT infrastructure and network administration.
  • Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of principles regarding design, testing, and maintenance of IT platforms, applications, and services.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced administration of Microsoft Windows Server (including AD, WSUS, and DNS) and Linux commercial distributions, familiarity with VMware virtual environments configuration and administration, and hands-on experience with scripting and basic tools development (Powershell, Python, or other).
  • Personal Skills: Self-motivated with the ability to work alone, team player who is able to take the lead when necessary, ability and creativity to cope with difficult situations, meticulous, customer-facing skills, and ability to speak, write, and communicate clearly in English and Norwegian.
Additional Requirements
  • Eligibility: Eligibility to obtain a Norwegian security clearance, with a mandatory requirement of being a Norwegian citizen or having continuously resided in Norway for the last 10 years.
