The Role
Scan Tech AS is looking for a talented
Automation Engineer
to contribute to the development and enhancement of our product range, supporting both current offerings and future innovations across our sales and rental fleets, including EPC projects. This role involves a mix of new product development and hands-on technical support for existing equipment. You'll collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams—spanning electrical, automation, and instrumentation—so strong teamwork and communication skills in English are essential. Principle Accountabilities
- Develop and maintain PLC program for equipment that has Siemens PLC.
- Develop BOM and selection of equipment and components.
- Assist with FAT locally and at the customer, on and offshore.
- Contribute to ensuring that equipment and documentation are in accordance with applicable regulations and laws.
- Participate in design for new builds, upgrades and modifications of rental equipment.
- Assist workshop, project supervisor and customers of a technical nature, mainly within electrical/automation and documentation.
- Upgrade and maintain documentation on existing and new rental machines, the work requires accuracy and technical understanding.
- Update drawings.
- The position is interdisciplinary in nature, but has a main emphasis on automation, electrical and instrumentation.
Qualifications And Experience
- Good experience with programming with Siemens TIA portal.
- Knowledge of Norsok, ATEX and Ex with associated standards related to electrical/automation is desirable.
- Fluent in Norwegian and Strong English, oral and written.
- Good collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of Autocad/Draftsight drawing program is desirable.
- Knowledge of E-plan drawing program is desirable.
- Experience with pdf, word and excel.
