About the Role
As an Offshore Operations Engineer within NOV's Downhole Broadband Solutions (DBS), you will play a key role in driving the digital transformation of the Oil & Gas industry. Leveraging our Wired Drill Pipe (WDP) technology, you will help enable the automation and optimization of the drilling process—supporting safer, faster, and more efficient well construction for our clients.
You will be an essential part of an integrated offshore operations team, responsible for maintaining wired telemetry systems, advising on drilling process improvements, and ensuring the seamless flow of real-time downhole data to optimize performance.
Due to increasing demand for our products and services we are in need of additional personnel in our operations group.
About the Company
NOV Digital Service is a business group within the Wellbore Technologies segment, and with our Downhole Broadband Solutions and Real-Time Services we are focusing on drilling automation & optimization by use of downhole data. Our department concentrates primarily on deployment of wired drill pipe (WDP) technology and along-string measurement (ASM) tools in drilling operations. The system allows transmission of real-time, high-density, low-latency data from logging-while-drilling (LWD) tools and from ASM subs. These tools provided temperature, annular/internal pressure, rotation, and vibration data.

Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to NOV and its customers safety philosophy and policies
- Maintain and sustain the Wired Telemetry offshore
- Be a vital part of the integrated operation team offshore (DD, DSV, Driller)
- Advise on drilling process optimizations
- Focal point for downhole data distribution
- Logistic and asset tracking offshore
- Train and mentor other Operations Engineers as required
- Work closely with service quality to track areas of improvement
- Generate and provide daily reports, internal and external
Qualifications & Skills
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of offshore experience in drilling, wellsite operations, or rig-based roles
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in petroleum engineering, drilling, geology, or a related discipline
- Practical knowledge of drilling mechanics and hydraulics
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work independently and adapt in dynamic offshore environments
- Strong analytical mindset and technical aptitude

- Proactive and safety-conscious approach to operations
- Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills
- Adaptable and self-driven, able to handle limited supervision
- Comfortable in multicultural environments with flat structures and high collaboration
