Software Project Manager
Do you want to unfold your skills within software development and project management in a world leading technology driven company?
At Weibel Scientific, we develop cutting-edge radar systems for global defense and aerospace customers. As a Software Project Manager, you will play a key role in delivering software solutions that are a part of our complex, high-performance radar systems. You will be responsible for managing software deliveries across multiple agile teams, ensuring alignment with project goals and customer expectations.
Our software development is organized around agile SCRUM teams, each dedicated to specific product capabilities rather than individual projects. These teams operate within a matrix organization, spanning five software domains, and collaborate closely to deliver a comprehensive software suite. We follow a release-train model, where software is delivered continuously and bundled into optimized releases, requiring close coordination across teams and domains.
About The Role
As our new Software Project Manager you will lead software deliveries aligned with our product roadmap and major release projects. You will manage the full delivery cycle - from initial capability definition and estimation to integration with hardware and final product validation. Working closely with Software Solution Architects, domain experts, and Engineering Managers, you will ensure that the agile Scrum teams deliver high-quality software on time.
Your responsibilities include planning and coordinating resources, tracking progress, managing change control, and maintaining transparency across stakeholders. You will play a key role in aligning software development with our agile SCRUM-based process, driving continuous improvement, and collaborating with fellow Software Project Managers to ensure successful execution across all projects.
You will be based at our Oslo office and as we work closely with our colleagues in Denmark, you can look forward to travelling 20-30 days per year, primarily 1-2 day-trips to our HQ in Copenhagen.
Your Qualifications
You bring several years of experience in managing technically complex software projects, ideally within organizations where software is closely integrated with hardware components. You are skilled at fostering transparency across teams and leadership, ensuring clear communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle. As a Software Project Manager, you are capable of driving and motivating teams in a fast-growing organization, where processes and structures are continuously evolving.
We are looking for someone who can confidently check off the following qualifications:
- Proven experience with agile methodologies, particularly SCRUM
- Familiarity with modern software tool-chains, DevOps practices, and automated testing
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, agile, and highly specialized development environment
- Experience in technical management and people leadership will be an advantage
- Strong command of English, both written and spoken
We do not expect you to have radar knowledge. The most important thing is that you are motivated for a steep learning curve, then we have a tailored introduction ready for you.
Your new team
Our team in Norway consists of 13 highly competent and dedicated colleagues, and we work closely together with the rest of Weibel's software teams with approximately 65 developers across the different teams. Collaboration is at the heart of what we do, ensuring a seamless transition from design to deployment of our software and algorithms. We're dedicated to the ongoing refinement of our processes and the strategic integration of new technologies.
In the larger Weibel R&D department, you'll find yourself among 200 talented colleagues. Together, we design and deliver outstanding solutions to our customers. With all our development done in-house, your expertise will be valued across a broad spectrum of technical disciplines, from system engineering to technical design.
Contact and application
Apply through our website using the "Apply" button. If you have any questions, please reach out to Software Director, Lars Boye on
