JOB DESCRIPTIONAbout the Role As Manager for DBS Systems Engineering you will lead a skilled team with full personnel responsibility, including recruitment, individual development, and performance follow-up. You'll oversee the delivery of the DBS system to customers and end-users while driving technical innovation and system development. The position carries overall responsibility for the DBS System and IT solutions, ensuring integration across NOV and third-party systems. You'll coordinate with cross-functional groups-such as operations, sales, engineering, and product lines-to align priorities, deliverables, and strategic direction. About the Company NOV Digital Services is a business group within the NOV Energy Products and Services segment, specializing in drilling automation and optimization through the use of real-time downhole data. Recruiting new team members when required. Responsible for infrastructure and data delivery to customer and end-users from NOV Systems. Responsible for data, and metadata from origination point through NOV systems. Drive and steer the development of the system. Overall technical responsibility for the DBS Network and IT solution provided by the team. Keep overview of all the team's efforts and status on projects. Coordinate and align with the other groups in NOV. Prioritizing the activities for the team. Sets priorities, requirements and expectation as well as future vision and direction of Systems engineering components. Coordinates with other groups (customers, operations, sales, engineering, product line) to set and deliver product wide priorities, requirements and expectations similar. Responsible for driving data integration initiatives within NOV and 3rd Party systems and software. Responsible for delivering DBS / Digital Ready I&C engineering packages. Coordinate with all stakeholders to improve data, application and answer product use at both the rig site and back-office. Work closely with Product Line and Engineering for design improvements of systems/tools/products. Some domestic and international travel should be expected, both office and on-site (offshore and onshore). Responsible for compliance of DBS systems. Operations, Sales, and engineering supportQualifications & Skills Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Engineering or a related field (experience may substitute for formal education). Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in system design, networking, or IT engineering. Strong knowledge of networking, data handling protocols, and system architecture. Experience leading teams or projects with end-to-end ownership (from development to implementation). Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English. Structured, self-driven, and capable of thriving in a collaborative environment.Desired Qualifications Experience and familiarity with NOV's products and organizational structure. Proficiency in problem-solving and root-cause analysis for complex system challenges. Norwegian language skills preferred. Prior leadership experience as a Team Lead, Principal Engineer, or Project Manager. Demonstrated record of successfully implementing new processes and improvements.Soft Skills Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate and guide a diverse technical team. Analytical mindset with a focus on innovation and operational efficiency. Collaborative and open communication style with cross-functional teams.
