We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer - Robot Design for our client's - a global robotics company's - growing team in Moss, Norway.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, prototype, and validate hardware solutions for robotics.
  • Integrate electronics, sensors, and cables into joints with extensive ranges of motion.
  • Optimize parts and assemblies to achieve optimal weight and cost efficiencies.
  • Produce detailed drawings for manufacturing and production.
  • Write clear and concise documentation detailing design specifics, requirements, and test plans.

Requirements

Must-Haves:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, preferably Solidworks.
  • Experience in structural Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing techniques to ensure producibility for medium to high-volume manufacturing.
  • Proven experience in taking complex products from concept through to production.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles in casting and extrusion.
  • Background in designing robots with knowledge of robotics kinematics and dynamics.
  • Experience with Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Previous involvement in developing highly intricate mechatronics systems with multiple Degrees of Freedom.
  • Understanding of dynamic environments where balancing competing priorities and timelines is essential.
