Customer Engineer Power

POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for Start Up, maintenance, component replacements and emergency repairs of Vertiv AC and DC Power products, mainly related to UPS but also including other power products. Important is also to support the technical manager with technical support not least towards our growing Key Account customers in Nordics that in general requires better support than our small customers. Required to establish, promote and maintain excellent relations with all customers, salesmen, distributors, and others within the area. Maintain continuous communications with Back offices and the department Management.
As Vertiv face to face representative on site, your objective is to promote Vertiv as a professional service provider.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Respond, in a professional manner, to all assigned service calls while on duty.
- Perform all work in a safe manner and in accordance with established company safety policy.
- Perform all work using good working practice and current codes of practice/legislation relevant to assigned task.
- Ensure spare parts are properly accounted for using established parts procedures.
- Assist in ensuring that the planned maintenance completion rate is maintained at a min 90% .
- Assist back office to schedule, plan and complete any works as required, using established work flow procedures.
- Keep back office informed of your schedule and the status of all open jobs.
- Support company vision and management decision.
- Ensure that all ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 agreed processes are followed.
- Keep company vehicle clean and properly maintained.
- You will be expected to look after all tooling and company property issued to enable the tasks to be carried out.
- Work as part of the service team.
- Follow up and follow through with any and all assigned tasks.
- Submit daily paperwork in a timely, accurate and complete manner and in case of Wireless Field Service ensure the job is debriefed in a complete and accurate manner at the customer’s premises where possible
- Ensure availability to work during weekend and nights
- Report sales or service leads to the proper department
- Provide a positive influence to peers
- Provide on site technical assistance with difficult problems
- Work closely & assist department managers, salesman, contracts engineer & managers with their day-to day operational duties.
- Attend customer meetings as required
- The employee ensure that any activity, task and responsibility required by role in terms of [Export Compliance], [Import Compliance], [EU Arrivals and Despatching], as well as [Supply Chain Security] is managed and performed in full compliance with the Company International Trade Compliance Regulation certification program itself
QUALIFICATIONS
Preferable 10 years experience of working in a technical service environment with UPS equipment or similar but the right personality is equally important.
- Computer experience (All Microsoft Office associated programs such as, Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Previous field service experience essential
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong communication skills
- Self starter, ability to plan, organise and manage time effectively with an ability to work under pressure
- Clean valid driving license
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
- Travel on a daily basis to and from customer sites
- Will be required to stay away from home and travel within Norway, Nordics or Europe to support projects when needed.
- Participate on the 24/7 on call rota.
- After hours and weekend work, scheduled with little notice may happen
- Occasional heavy lifting required
- You will be expected to operate as part of a team
- You will be supplied with a Company uniform, which must be warn at all times while working.
