Quality Engineer

Prysmian is looking for a Quality Engineer for the Drammen production site.
As a Quality Engineer, you will have a broad range of quality duties which includes both hands-on and coordination work. Together with the quality, R&D and production team you will work to ensure that the products meet the quality targets that Prysmian and their customers requires. You will be working in a plant with approx. 90 employees working with manufacturing of power cables for the offshore industry.
The role is focusing on quality in manufacturing processes in cooperation with Quality & Production team, product quality in cooperation with R&D well as auditing and participate in maintenance and improvements of ISO certified management system. Key deliveries include test reports and quality reports to customers, maintain quality of in-process testing, improvement projects and follow-up of production non-conformities and claims.
A skilled production team, lab facilities, R&D resources and Prysmian’s expertise are there to support you in further developing quality in manufacturing.
Your daily duties will include:
•Responsible for test plans and documentation of quality to customers.
•Monitoring of customer claims and non-conformity data.
•Supporting the plant Manager in setting direction of improvement actions resulting from data analysis of both non-conformities and claims.
•Conducting and leading root-cause analysis of manufacturing non-conformities, involving other functions in the company.
•Coordination of customer and supplier claim process, including intercompany issues (from and to other Prysmian affiliates)
•Maintaining and further developing the company’s management system, in coordination with the Scandinavia Quality Manager.
•Practical lab work in fault analysis.
•Maintaining an updated database with key company information and supporting the organization in matters relating to quality and environment including customer questionnaires.
•Following-up of quality measurement equipment in the plant
•Executing factory quick process audits according to Prysmian rules, ensuring corrective actions are applied to the findings.
Who are we looking for?
A professional with a hands-on and can-do attitude, who holds a quality mindset to drive improvements in a manufacturing environment.
Somebody who is results driven, and who has the ability to focus on the right priorities, ensuring both effectiveness and efficiency in the work they do. A person who will take ownership of the quality function and who is attracted to challenges.
We are looking for a person with a bachelor degree (Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar), although relevant experience in the quality field in manufacturing settings will also be considered.
Ability to cooperate well with people at all levels of the organization is another great value to have, together with the ability to put oneself in the customer’s place when it comes to requirements and specifications.
As the company operates internationally and collaborates with other factories in Europe, strong written and spoken communication skills in English, besides Norwegian, are a must.
Knowledgeable in regular office tools like Excel, Powerpoint and Word. SAP experience is an advantage.
