Nordea is growing in Norway and we are looking for credit risk experts who wish to make a difference and develop Nordea's credit risk framework and processes for our retail customers and credit automation. Do you have experience in handling household customers and are you interested in further developing Nordea's risk management practices in the leading financial services group in the Nordics?

The Credit Risk Framework Retail and Automation team is part of Group Credit Risk Control (GCRC) and we are looking for a Risk Expert/Senior Risk Expert to advance the development of Nordea Group's credit risk framework and monitor and ensure compliance towards Norwegian credit regulation in our credit processes. Our team is responsible for the end-to-end credit risk management and the Nordea Groups credit risk frameworks.

GCRC is an independent 2nd Line of Defence unit safeguarding and supporting prudent risk management. The unit comprises of six credit risk control units, focusing on monitoring and control of credit processes, portfolio analytics and reporting, provisioning control, credit risk appetite setting and monitoring, and maintaining the Nordea credit risk framework.

Welcome to the Credit Risk Framework Retail team in the second line Group Credit Risk Control. We ensure that Nordea's credit processes are compliant, meet supervisory expectations and are aligned with Nordea's business goals. We are as a retail team also ensuring that our credit processes are fit to purpose and support Nordea's automation agenda.


As a member of our team, you will be steering Nordea's credit risk management practices and processes, ensuring they are aligned with Nordea's risk profile and appetite. You will be in the forefront in Nordea when it comes to implementing new regulation and support its implementation in Nordea's operations and processes. You will work in close collaboration with our sister teams working with Nordea's non-retail frameworks and the ESG area, as well as with key stakeholders such as Group Credit Management (1st LoD Credit) and Personal Banking, our mortgage companies and Business Banking. Our team also monitor and managing regulatory changes within credit risk and advice our stakeholders on the interpretation of existing and upcoming credit risk regulations.


In addition, you will support the team and stakeholders in interactions with Nordea's local supervisors and the ECB, and participate in key projects that impact they way Nordea operates in the future. We are a Nordic team with great colleagues with various backgrounds and we are all ready to onboard you.

What you will be doing:

Develop Nordea's risk management framework with focus on the areas of retail credit assessment, high risk processes, automated credit decisions and collateral management Drive guideline reviews and projects, and develop the Credit Risk Framework for retail customers in close collaboration with the team and stakeholders, especially Group Credit Management and business areas Ensure implementation in close collaboration with stakeholders Become our go-to-person regarding credit rules, processes and regulation in the household, retail corporate, collateral and credit automation area. Support one common operating model in Nordea with focus on minimising local rules and deviations to the Group's guidelines Be our local credit expert in Norway and a dedicated sparring partner for our colleagues in Group Credit Management and business areas Represent the team in Nordea projects. At present, we are very much involved in projects related to Nordea's new credit risk models (IRB models) and implementation of the revised Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR), high risk processes and dialogues with our local supervisors as well as the ECB


The role gives you a front-row role in the credit risk operations of the Group. Every expert in the team is vital for our success, and we coach and support each other to achieve our targets.

Your profile and background:

  • You are a team player with a positive and proactive attitude
  • You have a good balance of collaboration and independence in driving initiatives. You take responsibility for your work and focus on finding solutions even in the most challenging situations
  • Masters or Bachelor's degree from relevant field (engineering, economics, finance, law or other suitable) and/or relevant work experience
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience within risk related topics. Position can be tailored as senior or lead depending on the seniority of the applicant
  • Proven skills and good track record in driving initiatives or projects
  • Strong stakeholder management, collaboration and communication skills
  • Knowledge on the regulatory framework in the credit area is beneficial
  • Fluent in Norwegian and English both written and spoken
