With a rich history exceeding a century in renewable energy, Hydro Energy stands as a top hydropower producer in Norway and a significant player in the Nordic and Brazilian power markets.

We're actively diversifying into emerging energy sectors, including hydrogen and batteries, and supporting Hydro's broader objectives in energy contracts and policy. In response to our expanding energy focus, we've launched new units (Batteries, Hydro Rein, and Hydro Havrand) and are enhancing our Energy Strategy & Policy unit.

This team offers in-depth analysis across Nordic, European, Brazilian, and global markets, shaping Hydro's energy strategies and policy advocacy.

We're now looking for a Power Market Analyst to contribute to our strategic insights and drive our energy agenda forward.

Responsibilities

As a Power Market Analyst, your primary responsibilities will include operating the power market model (BID3), gathering and evaluating high-quality model inputs, and analyzing outputs. Key tasks will involve:

  • Daily operation of power market models for Europe and Brazil
  • Structuring relevant input data for the power market models
  • Responsibility for specific parts of the complex power market landscape
  • Collaborating closely with internal strategic analysts and external power market experts


Qualifications

To thrive and succeed in the role as Power market analyst, we believe the right candidate holds the following qualifications:

  • Master's degree within mathematics, economics, engineering (other subjects may be relevant)
  • Strong quantitative mindset
    •1-5 years' experience from quantitative analysis (of power markets) is an advantage
  • Advanced Excel skills and programming skills is an advantage
  • Good command of English and Norwegian is an advantage
