Are you passionate about open-source communities and eager to shape the future of interactive education? If so, H5P Group are looking for a Community Manager with experience contributing to and fostering open-source projects to nurture and grow our vibrant H5P community. As a Community Manager, you will be a pivotal figure in ensuring the success and sustainability of our H5P project by engaging, supporting, and empowering our user base, contributors, and stakeholders.

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Community Manager to join our team, responsible for nurturing and growing our H5P.org community.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Community Engagement:
  • Be the advocate and spokesperson for the H5P project, promoting its benefits and values within the community.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for community members, addressing their inquiries, feedback and concerns.
  • Establish partnerships and collaborations with educational institutions and other relevant organizations.
  • Organize and host community events, webinars, and conferences to facilitate interaction and knowledge sharing.
  • Foster a vibrant and inclusive online and offline community environment.
  • Participate in the H5P management team to represent the community's interests, ensuring their voices are heard and that key management decisions are effectively communicated back to the community.
Content Creation:
  • Develop and curate engaging content, such as blog posts, tutorials, and documentation, to facilitate user onboarding and knowledge sharing.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge base to empower users to find solutions independently.
Community Growth:
  • Design and execute strategies to attract new contributors, users, and collaborators from the open-source world.
  • Continuously refine processes to make joining and contributing to H5P as seamless as possible.
Feedback Management:
  • Gather and analyze user feedback to inform product development and improvement.
  • Use feedback to continuously improve the experience for community members.
Metrics and Reporting:
  • Monitor and report on community engagement metrics, growth, and user satisfaction.
  • Use data insights to adapt and refine community strategies for long-term success.

What You'll Bring to the Role:

  • A deep understanding of open-source communities, including contributing to or managing such projects.
  • Proven experience fostering and growing online communities, especially within the open-source space.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluency in English.
  • Experience organizing events like webinars, hackathons, or conferences.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in user-facing roles or technical support.
  • A strategic mindset for community engagement, supported by an ability to analyze data and adapt accordingly.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for education, technology, and open-source collaboration.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

The Community Manager position can be done remotely from your home office located within the UK or the Netherlands, or onsite at one of our office locations in London, Oslo, Bergen or Tromsø. Some traveling will be expected.
