Oslo, Oslo County, Norway United Nations Development Programme Full time
United Nations Development Programme

Background

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are core principles at UNDP:  we value diversity as an expression of the multiplicity of nations and cultures where we operate, we foster inclusion as a way of ensuring all personnel are empowered to contribute to our mission, and we ensure equity and fairness in all our actions. Taking a 'leave no one behind' approach to our diversity efforts means increasing representation of underserved populations. People who identify as belonging to marginalized or excluded populations are strongly encouraged to apply. Learn more about working at UNDP including our values and inspiring stories.

UNDP does not tolerate sexual exploitation and abuse, any kind of harassment, including sexual harassment, and discrimination. All selected candidates will, therefore, undergo rigorous reference and background checks.

UNDP works in about 170 countries and territories, helping to eradicate poverty, reduce inequalities and exclusion, and build resilience so countries can sustain progress. As the UN's development agency, UNDP plays a critical role in helping countries achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

The UNDP Global Policy Centre for Governance (GPCG) is UNDPs dedicated Global Policy Centre for Governance issues, which advances global dialogue and knowledge on inclusive and transformative governance for peaceful, just and inclusive societies. The Centre builds knowledge, insight and data through drawing on the experience of practitioners, policymakers and researchers as well as stimulating global discourse and dialogue on key governance questions in the world today.

Housed in the Global Policy Centre for Governance since September 2022, UNDP's global anti-corruption team, is UNDP's main vehicle for providing policy and programme support on anti-corruption and coordinating UNDP's anti-corruption work both internally through UNDP regional hubs and country offices and externally with other relevant partners. Previously working on Anti-Corruption for Peaceful and Inclusive Societies global project, the team is now working on the Global Corruption Measurement Initative, with the aim of creating new cutting-edge methods for measuring corruption and providing policy recommendations globally.

UNDP's work on anti-corruption has been instrumental in advancing the transparency, accountability, and integrity agendas at global, regional and country levels. The global anti-corruption project contributes to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development by integrating anti-corruption solutions in service delivery sectors, strengthening the institutional capacity of institutions to prevent and address corruption, leveraging technology and innovation for integrity and anti-corruption, and leading anti-corruption knowledge and global advocacy on anti-corruption.

As an intern with the anti-corruption team at the Global Policy Centre for Governance, you will earn an understanding of how international organisations function, gain knowledge on key and acute global governance challenges and be part of a diverse and dedicated team working on promoting inclusive, accountable, and effective governance, and anti-corruption.
