The UNDP Global Policy Centre for Governance (GPCG) is UNDPs dedicated Global Policy Centre for Governance issues, which advances global dialogue and knowledge on inclusive and transformative governance for peaceful, just and inclusive societies. The Centre builds knowledge, insight and data through drawing on the experience of practitioners, policymakers and researchers as well as stimulating global discourse and dialogue on key governance questions in the world today.
Housed in the Global Policy Centre for Governance since September 2022, UNDP's global anti-corruption team, is UNDP's main vehicle for providing policy and programme support on anti-corruption and coordinating UNDP's anti-corruption work both internally through UNDP regional hubs and country offices and externally with other relevant partners. Previously working on Anti-Corruption for Peaceful and Inclusive Societies global project, the team is now working on the Global Corruption Measurement Initative, with the aim of creating new cutting-edge methods for measuring corruption and providing policy recommendations globally.
UNDP's work on anti-corruption has been instrumental in advancing the transparency, accountability, and integrity agendas at global, regional and country levels. The global anti-corruption project contributes to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development by integrating anti-corruption solutions in service delivery sectors, strengthening the institutional capacity of institutions to prevent and address corruption, leveraging technology and innovation for integrity and anti-corruption, and leading anti-corruption knowledge and global advocacy on anti-corruption.
As an intern with the anti-corruption team at the Global Policy Centre for Governance, you will earn an understanding of how international organisations function, gain knowledge on key and acute global governance challenges and be part of a diverse and dedicated team working on promoting inclusive, accountable, and effective governance, and anti-corruption. You must have strong time management and organisational skills, work as a team player, and be comfortable working on a variety of tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Global Programme Advisor on Anti-Corruption at the UNDP Global Policy Centre for Governance, the intern will:
- Help to promote awareness of the Centre's mandate, work, and results, through support of the implementation of the Centre and the anti-corruption team's communication and partnership strategies.
- Assist in the development of concept notes, terms of reference, presentations, proposals, speech remarks.
- Assist in enlarging the Centre and the anti-corruption team's network of research and knowledge partnerships in the Scandinavian countries.
- Participate in internal and external meetings, events and other necessary engagements with project stakeholders, collaborative partners, and potential collaborative partners.
- Support the thematic work streams of the Centre as needed.
- Assist in preparing launches of UNDP reports and other public events.
- Develop analyses, research and background documents on key governance and anti-corruption issues, as well as drafting and editing other materials.
- Additional tasks as required to support the work of the Global Policy Centre for Governance the anti-corruption team.

- Good social media skills; knowledge of web publication tools and photo editing tools is an advantage.
- Knowledge of the UN/UNDP and commitment to UN mission and UNDP mandate is an advantage.
- Work experience from a developing country and/or international organisation or related is an advantage.
Required Skills and Experience
Languages:
- Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
- Knowledge of Norwegian is an asset.
Education:
Applicants to the UNDP internship programme must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:
- Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (such as bachelor's degree or equivalent); preferably in international affairs, political science, international development, journalism, communications, or other relevant social sciences.
- Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as a master's programme, or higher); preferably in international affairs, political science, international development, journalism, communications, or other relevant social sciences.
- Have recently graduated with a university degree (as defined above and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation;
- Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program and undertake the internship as part of this program.

General Conditions
- In accordance with the UNDP Internship policy, UNDP interns are eligible to receive a monthly stipend, with a rate that varies depending on the duty location. The stipend will be paid monthly, and part-time internship arrangements are prorated accordingly.
- Where an intern is financially supported by an institution, government or third party, UNDP will pay the intern the difference, if any, between the external financial support provided and the applicable UNDP stipend.
- Except for the stipend, all other expenses connected with the internship will be borne by the intern, sponsoring government or institutions.
- Interns are not considered staff members and may not represent UNDP in any official capacity.
- The purpose of the Internship Programme is not to lead to further employment with UNDP, but to complement an intern's studies. Therefore, there should be no expectation of employment at the end of an internship.
