Position Overview

Our finance team in Italy is expanding, and we are in search of a Senior Financial Accountant to join our office in a hybrid capacity.

The Senior Financial Accountant will integrate into the local finance team, assisting the Head of Unit Reporting Italy with various aspects of daily financial oversight, corporate, tax, and statutory reporting for the Italian Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Financial Accounting & Reporting - Ensure adherence to IFRS, local GAAP, and group standards. Oversee the monthly closing and reporting process, including the presentation and discussion of monthly results with key stakeholders.
  • Provide Tax Expertise to guarantee compliance with VAT, WHT, and Direct tax regulations.
  • Facilitate group reporting in IFRS to the Corporate Finance department using Cognos.
  • Manage the asset register and project cost accounting to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and relevance of accounting data for various stakeholder groups.
  • Prepare, approve, and coordinate statutory reporting submissions.
  • Generate various statistical reports for external agencies.
  • Assist in establishing start-up entities and allocating costs to projects.
  • Support the maintenance of the internal control framework.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Reporting Unit Italy, finance business partners, and Group Finance in cash planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Address ad hoc inquiries and coordinate reporting processes with other departments.
  • Aid the business controller team in analyzing monthly results.

Required Qualifications

  • Higher education in Economics, Finance, or Accounting.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience (experience in a multinational company and/or as an accounting consultant is advantageous).
  • Strong understanding of local accounting standards and tax regulations (knowledge of IFRS is a plus).
  • Basic knowledge of SAP is beneficial.
  • Proficient in Excel and reporting systems.
  • Flexible, proactive, and self-driven with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Team-oriented, capable of working independently, under pressure, and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Fluent in Italian and English .
