Postdoctoral Researcher in Interdisciplinary Data-Based Modelling

The postdoctoral research position is a temporary appointment aimed at qualifying the incumbent for senior academic positions. As part of the Large Inter-Disciplinary Research Project IMod, this position is funded by the Research Council of Norway and spans the period 2022–2028. The project integrates mathematical and statistical methods to develop theory applicable in fluid mechanics and neuroscience.
Main Responsibilities
- Contribute to the project's main objectives and actively participate in project and department seminars.
- Work independently on defined subprojects, developing research skills and networking.
- Engage in mathematical analysis and programming/numerical methods related to the project's goals.
Required Qualifications
- A Norwegian doctoral degree or a corresponding foreign doctoral degree recognized as equivalent to a Norwegian PhD in mathematical sciences.
- A research background in mathematical analysis or analysis of partial differential equations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with analysis of nonlinear partial differential equations, stochastic analysis, and rigorous numerical analysis.
- Interest and experience in cross-disciplinary research.
- Excellent written and oral language skills (in English, and possibly Norwegian).

Salary and Conditions
- As a Postdoctoral Fellow (code 1352), you will be paid from gross NOK per annum before tax, depending on qualifications and seniority.
- The period of employment is 3 years, with a preferred starting date of January 2025.
