The Service Technician role is a key position within Textron Specialized Vehicles, responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of Safeaero de-icing equipment.

Job Description

This Mechanical Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, servicing, and commissioning of Safeaero equipment. Based in or around Oslo, Norway, this individual will also travel extensively (up to 150 days per year) to various customer sites worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out service work for customers, ensuring seamless delivery and on-time completion.
  • Being responsible for the repair, maintenance, servicing, and commissioning of Safeaero equipment, adhering to strict quality standards.
  • Ensuring the final configuration and testing of vehicles before they are sent to end customers, guaranteeing their satisfaction.
  • SUPPORTING customers and in-house departments, including Engineering and Sales.
  • Providing technical support to customers and colleagues, communicating effectively at all levels.
  • Traveling to customer sites to ensure prompt issue resolution and effective problem-solving.
  • Ensuring guidelines and standards of work expected by Textron Sweden AB are understood and met.
  • Maintaining a professional approach and manner at all times, consistent with customer and company expectations.
  • Setting a good example to colleagues by observing and obeying all company rules and regulations, complying with site regulations, and safeguarding company property.
  • Setting a good example to colleagues by completing all necessary company documentation punctually and in accordance with any guidelines or schedules issued.
  • Attending all training courses and meetings as required by Textron Sweden AB.
  • Providing support and co-operation to management and colleagues.
  • Being prepared and willing to help and contribute to the success of the company at all times.
  • Observing and adhering to Company Health and Safety guidelines.

Qualifications

  • A technical qualification is a requirement for this role.
  • System knowledge and understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrics, and ability to read drawings are essential.
  • Ability to give technical direction and product training.
  • Willingness to travel up to 150 days per year, which may include extensive international travel.
  • Experience engaging with customers in high-pressure environments.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical/mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic drawings and diagrams.
  • Documenting work effectively.
  • Competence in MS Office and ability to upload/download specialist software.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to communicate technical matters effectively at all levels.
  • Prioritizing tasks efficiently and working under pressure.

Compensation Package

This role offers a competitive salary range of $65,000-$80,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, Textron Specialized Vehicles provides an attractive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
