We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cost Controller to join our team at Oil and Gas Job Search Ltd. Our client is a leading player in the global energy transition, developing a portfolio of renewable energy and green hydrogen projects.

The successful candidate will play a key role in implementing and maintaining a consistent approach to project cost control, budget tracking, forecasting, cashflow, and performance analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Implement a cost management system, processes, and procedures to ensure a consistent approach to project cost control, budget tracking, forecasting, cashflow, and performance analysis.
  2. Manage project cost and progress reporting to provide consistent, accurate, and timely reporting to the project management team, including identification of required actions to maintain approved baseline targets.
  3. Own, oversee, and participate in key cost functions, including:
  4. Application of the project Work Breakdown Structure to ensure all systems, processes, and reporting reflect the standard approach on projects.
  5. Support the contracting and procurement team with project contracts, purchase orders, project payment certificates review, setup in PIMS and SAP systems.
  6. Review and verify invoices, establish accruals with supporting documentation before the end of the month, and allocate expenses to cost centers and WBS.
  7. Forecast cost to complete and highlight areas of risk to mitigate cost overruns against the baseline plan and budget.
  8. Monthly reporting and variance analysis.
  9. Ensure the project change management process (PCN) is utilized diligently on projects.
  10. Support the quarterly capital planning process.
  11. Progress and performance measurement by applying earned value management (EVM) tools and techniques to interpret data and provide timely insight and recommendations on project performance.
  12. Evaluate contractor's progress payment claims and reconcile with budgets and contracts.
  13. Monitor and audit cost management systems and SAP to ensure accuracy between the two systems and escalate to management of any significant variances.
  14. Establish positive working relationships with all parties involved and uphold company values.

Requirements:

  1. At least 5 years of project control experience, cost control, economics, or business management, preferably including international elements or interfaces.
  2. Experience working on the reporting of cost components of small to mid-scale capital projects.
  3. Good understanding of project control principles, processes, and techniques.
  4. Good communication skills, ability to interface with project stakeholders.
  5. Experience and proficiency with Omega PIMS cost system, PowerBI, SAP, and Visma experience is very beneficial.
  6. Proficient computer skills with advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and MS Office package abilities.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering and commerce/finance, or equivalent by experience.
  2. Project management or an internationally accredited project controls certification.
