PhD Candidate in Sustainable Healthcare Project Management

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our research team at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). The successful candidate will be part of a research project focused on sustainable healthcare project management, with a specific emphasis on healthcare facilities in Norway.
Research ObjectivesThe PhD project aims to develop a deeper understanding of the possibilities for project owners to contribute to a sustainable built hospital environment when faced with limited funding. The research will focus on the following objectives:
- Extend the framework for sustainability knowledge to provide guidance to practice
- Conduct literature reviews that focus on organizations' room for maneuver
- Identify relevant themes and concepts for sustainable healthcare project management
- Develop a system sketch of the different roles' focus and needs
The PhD candidate will be responsible for:
- Executing a PhD project within 3 years
- Taking part in and completing the mandatory PhD courses
- Preparing scientific journal articles and conference papers under supervision
- Presenting results from the research at international scientific conferences and in a dissertation
To be eligible for this position, the candidate must have:
- A professionally relevant background in project management, real estate, facilities, service, or construction management, business, or healthcare administration management, information and communication technology
- A strong academic background from previous studies, with an average grade from the master's degree program equivalent to B or better compared with NTNU's grading scale
- Good knowledge of engineering, healthcare, and/or innovation fields
- Good sustainability knowledge
- Good written and oral English
The following qualifications are preferred:
- Work experience from project-oriented business
- Good knowledge of the Norwegian AEC/FM industry and Norwegian healthcare industry
- Good understanding of the connection between technology, process, and human interaction
- Fluent in a Scandinavian language
