PhD Candidate in Sustainable Healthcare Environments

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our research group at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team focused on sustainability in healthcare environments.
Research FocusThe PhD project will investigate how hospitals in Norway can move towards a more sustainable direction despite financial constraints. The research will explore decision-making, user needs, innovation, and organizational learning in the context of healthcare facilities. The candidate will develop frameworks and knowledge to improve strategies and processes for a sustainable built environment.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct a PhD project within 3 years
- Participate in and complete mandatory courses
- Prepare scientific journal articles and conference papers under supervision
- Present research results at international conferences and in a dissertation
- Master's degree in project management, real estate, facilities, service, or construction management, business, or healthcare administration
- Strong academic background with an average grade of B or better
- Good knowledge of engineering, healthcare, and/or innovation fields
- Good sustainability knowledge
- Good written and oral English
- Work experience from project-oriented businesses
- Good knowledge of the Norwegian AEC/FM industry and Norwegian healthcare industry
- Good understanding of the connection between technology, process, and human interaction
- Analytical, respectful, and excellent at thinking 'out-of-the-box'
- Motivated, ambitious, and eager to 'walk new paths'
- Collaborative, positive, open-minded, and able to take initiatives
- Exciting and stimulating tasks in a strong international academic environment
