About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Support Services Engineer to join our team at Onnec Group. As a Support Services Engineer, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality services to our customers, ensuring the smooth operation of our data centres and workplace technology services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Maintenance of equipment racks, servers, and network hardware in technology rooms.
  • Structured Cabling installation, fault finding, and testing with Fluke test equipment.
  • Power Distribution unit installation and maintenance within equipment racks.
  • Equipment Moves and relocations within site locations, including stores.
  • Technology Component Swaps and decommissioning of equipment.
  • Desktop Configuration and setup, including patching and power.
  • Telephone Handset Installation and configuration.
  • Network Patching and labelling of hardware.
  • DBAN Disk Wipes and asset management.
  • Interface with Corporate Real Estate on mechanical and electrical provisioning.
  • Technology Room Inspections and BMS alarm investigation assistance.
  • Work Order Review and assignment.
  • Housekeeping Duties and systems data quality checks.
  • Materials, Tools, and Test Equipment Management.
  • Carry out Surveys and update drawings and schedules.
  • Update Records for all changes using asset management software.
  • Third-Party Supervision and first-line support.
  • Site Representation on incident bridges.
Requirements
  • Experience working in an IT environment, preferably in an ICT hardware break-fix, moves, adds, and changes environment.
  • Knowledge of structured cabling standards and cable types (FTP, UTP, and Optical Fibre).
  • Good MS Office Suite experience (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Self-starter, organized, detailed-oriented, and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Prioritization skills and multitasking ability.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Good knowledge of asset management systems and ticketing systems.
  • Good understanding of complex change management and service delivery processes.
  • Ability to assist with training new starters on all systems, processes, and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous training or qualifications within the information technology field.
  • Practical experience of intelligent infrastructure management.
  • BICSI Technician Training or COMPTIA A+ certification.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA DCICN DCICT) certification.
